VAMPIRE FACIAL - VAMPIRE FACELIFT
Harness the power of your body's "natural" repair system to rejuvenate your skin!
PLATELET-RICH PLASMA (PRP) and PLATELET-RICH FIBRIN (PRF) are derived from your own blood and contain abundant growth factors that can trigger skin cell turnover, stimulate collagen and elastin production as well as promote healing and tissue regeneration in treated areas.
PRP'S SAFETY has been established for over 20 years for its wound healing properties. It's effectiveness has been proven across multiple disciplines including Orthopedics to speed up healing of small fractures and treat arthritis; Sports Medicine to facilitate healing of sports-related soft tissue injuries; Dentistry to help graft bone for implants and restore large gingival defects from extracted tooth; ENT/maxillofacial surgery for sinus elevations; Dermatology for chronic wound healing; Podiatry; Cardiovascular Surgery; Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, and Cosmetic Medicine.
SKIN BENEFITS OF PRP/PRF
Along with the benefit of using your own tissue therefore virtually eliminating allergies, there is the potential benefit of mobilizing your own stem cells for your benefit. PRP has been shown to have overall rejuvenating effects on the skin including:
- tightening the skin
- volumizing thin, delicate areas
- smoothening fine lines
- improving appearance of scars
- reducing pigmentation
- improving skin tone and texture especially in the under eyes, neck, and décolletage, for an overall regenerative glow (most dramatic results to date)
ADDITIONAL BENEFITS
- suitable for all skin types
- minimal down time because speedy healing
- very safe (minimal risks; allergy risk eliminated)
- natural looking results
- no general anesthesia required
LIMITATIONS OF PRP/PRF
It is not designed to replace benefits of cosmetic surgery for certain cases where such procedures would be more appropriate ( i.e. "permanent" lifting of severe skin laxity, severe drooping of eyelids, etc.) Advanced wrinkles cannot be reversed. Severe scarring may not respond. Minimal improvement is predictable in persons with drug, alcohol, and tobacco usage.
TREATMENT AREAS
Areas typically treated for skin rejuvenation include:
- around the eyes and tear troughs
- cheeks and midface
- nasolabial folds and laugh lines
- lips
- jaw line
- neck
- chest and décolletage
- back of hands and arms
- scars
WORLDPRP SYSTEM
At MD Aesthetics & Health Services, we use the "WORLDPRP" system - a top-of-the-line and leader in extracting a very concentrated PRP (up to 3.5x platelet concentration) in the shortest amount of time (3-min centrifuge time only) through a completely natural process free of contaminants. Moreover, the WORLDPRP system produces a large volume of PRP (up to 14 ml) from one flask in just one spin cycle, thus providing maximum flexibility and versatile treatment options in one visit.
WHAT TO EXPECT?
On your INITIAL VISIT, we will discuss your goals, perform a thorough assessment and formulate a treatment plan unique to your specific areas of concern.
Consultation and treatment may be provided on the same visit at our discretion.
Depending on areas of concern, treatment performed on initial visit may take 60-75 minutes. Subsequent treatments take only 30-60 minutes.
PROCEDURE:
- PRP/PRF treatment starts with drawing 23 mL of blood from your arm - a relatively small amount compared to blood donation which can remove 500ml.
- Collected blood is spun in the centrifuge, which separates the blood component from the Plaletelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
- Once extracted, PRP or PRF is delivered into the skin by fine needle injections or cannula (aka "Vampire Facelift") or thousands of tiny pricks using a microneedle or micro-channel device (aka "Vampire Facial")
There are evidence to suggest that anesthetic can reduce the effectiveness of PRP/PRF. That said, if you prefer the application of a local anesthetic prior to your treatment, we can certainly do so for you.
RESULTS:
- Effects are generally visible at 4 weeks and continue to improve with subsequent treatments over 3-6 months.
- A minimum of 3 treatments, 4 - 6 weeks apart is recommended for optimal results.
- Maintenance treatments every 6 -12 months are recommended for longer-lasting results.
- Current data shows results may last 18 - 24 months. Of course, all individuals are different so there will be variations from one person to the next.
