WRINKLES develop due to strong movement of muscles underneath the skin that create lines as the skin ages and loses collagen.
- Wrinkles that appear only with facial expressions are called "DYNAMIC" wrinkles
- Wrinkles that stay even when the face is not moving are called "STATIC" wrinkles.
When left untreated, dynamic wrinkles become static wrinkles over time, which are much harder to treat and require more than neuromodulators (i.e. combination treatments with laser, fillers or boosters) to correct.
NEUROMODULATORS are injectables derived from Botolinum Toxin A, popularly known as "Botox", that reduce wrinkles by limiting the movement of treated muscles.
The goal of therapy is to RELAX the muscles, NOT FREEZE them, thus creating less intense yet normal movements in the face.
TREATMENT AREAS include:
- Frown (aka "11") Lines
- Forehead Lines
- Peri-orbital (aka "Crow's Feet") Lines
- Nose Wrinkles (aka "Bunny" Lines)

- Chin Dimpling (aka "Orange Peel" Chin)

There are currently four (4) brands of neuromodulator in the market that have received BOTH FDA & Health Canada approval for reducing wrinkles on the forehead and between brows. Their application for wrinkles on other areas of the face, neck, and hands are technically "off-label", but have been widely practiced and been shown highly effective treatment for wrinkles. Because they all have the same active ingredient -Botulinum Toxin A, they are equally effective with only slight variations in onset and duration of action.
NOTE: Health Canada restricts the advertisement of the brand name of medications to the general consumer by by linking them to therapeutic outcomes. We are more than happy to discuss them by contacting or scheduling a consultation with us.
